How we compare

VenueStack vs DICE

Looking for a DICE ticketing alternative for your nightclub? DICE sells the ticket and puts it in front of its fans. A club night also sells tables with deposits, runs guest lists and works the door, so compare both on the whole night and on DICE’s published fees.

DICE is a ticketing and discovery platform built around fans. It recommends events to the fans it thinks will love them, and says 41% of tickets sold on DICE are prompted by Discovery. Prices are shown all-in, tickets are tied to each fan’s account rather than printed, and a Wait List resells sold-out tickets from fan to fan. It is a strong fit for music-led nights that want reach among its fans.

VenueStack is built for clubs where the ticket is one part of the night. The same night sells VIP tables with deposits and minimum spends, runs guest lists and works the door, and every ticket, booking and check-in builds one customer list. New staff learn each job inside the dashboard, with guides that play on the page they are using. One plan covers all of it.

Questions about DICE.

More questions, answered

DICE’s US self sign-up terms, last updated 28 April 2026 and checked 16 October 2026, set a 13% service fee on the face value of each ticket, charged on top of it and covering card processing. Free tickets carry no service fee, and the same fee applies to add-ons. Fans see one all-in price. Partners who sign through its sales team agree their fees in a term sheet instead.

DICE’s Canada standard ticketing terms, last updated 17 June 2025, set a 10% service fee on face value. Its UK self sign-up terms, last updated 28 April 2026, set 8.5% plus VAT on face value, with a £1 minimum, plus a 2.5% plus VAT transaction fee on the total. Both were checked 16 October 2026. Ask which terms your agreement uses.

Yes. Its US self sign-up terms, checked 16 October 2026, apply a 10% fee to all box office and door sales, and take 3% of the transaction price on tickets sold through DICE box office terminals. Its UK terms charge 8% on door sales, with a £1 minimum and a £3.50 maximum, plus the same 3%. Ask whether those fees change in a negotiated deal.

Its US self sign-up terms, checked 16 October 2026, say DICE pays what you are owed within 5 business days of the event, after taking its fees from ticket sales. It can hold up to 5% of each event’s sales for six months to cover chargebacks, and refunds for cancelled or rescheduled events are the organiser’s to fund. With VenueStack, guests pay your venue through your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays you out on its schedule.

Its partner pages and help center, checked 16 October 2026, don’t describe table bookings, deposits or minimum spends. Its Extras let fans add VIP upgrades, queue jumps or food and drink vouchers to a ticket, which the organiser fulfils. VenueStack books VIP tables on your floor plan with deposits and minimum spends, and our team can design the floor plan during onboarding.

DICE’s help center, checked 16 October 2026, says its tickets can’t be printed and are never sent by email or as a PDF. Each is a unique QR code linked to the fan’s phone number and activated on the day of the show, and it asks fans not to screenshot it. VenueStack tickets, passes and table bookings can be added to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.

On fixed cost, no: DICE’s US self sign-up terms have no monthly charge, and VenueStack is $200 a month. Per sale, those terms, checked 16 October 2026, add 13% of face value with card processing included, and VenueStack adds 4% processing fees, at least $2 and at most $50 (C$2.50–C$50, €2–€50, £1.50–£50) plus Stripe’s card fees. Compare what guests and the venue pay over the same month, with your table bookings in it.

Its help center, checked 16 October 2026, says organisers can allocate guest list tickets, which guests claim with a DICE account after an email. Its partner pages say it has access solutions sized to each event. VenueStack runs guest lists, finds guests by name and keeps a headcount every door shares. It scans tickets and passes offline too, as long as each device opened VenueStack online before doors.
