Search the dashboard

Search finds a guest, an order, a reservation, a pass or any page of the dashboard from one box. Type a name, an email, a phone number, or a number off a guest's ticket or receipt.

Open the search

• On a computer, click Search at the top of the sidebar, or press ⌘K on a Mac (Ctrl K on Windows). When you're not typing in a field, / opens it too.
• In a phone browser, tap the search button at the top of the screen. In the VenueStack app, tap More, then Search.

Press Esc, or tap Cancel on a phone, to close it.

What it finds

• Pages: every area, tab and Settings section you can open, by its name or the word you'd use for it. "receipts" finds Ticket sales, "floor plan" finds Tables & Floor Plan, "staff" finds Users, "door" finds Scanner & Clicker.
• Events by name, tonight and the nights coming up first.
• Customers by name, email or phone number. The guest's profile opens.
• Ticket orders by order number, ticket number, guest name or email. The order opens with its details.
• Reservations by reservation number (it starts with TB), guest name, email or phone number. It opens on the Tables page for its night.
• Passes by pass number (it starts with P), purchase number (PP), holder name or email. The pass opens.
• Chats, Promoters, Users and Help Center articles.

A number works however it's typed: in capitals or not, with or without its dash or underscore. "jlap ezogt" finds order JLAP_EZOGT.

When what you type is exactly one record's number, email or phone number, that record shows first as Best match. Press Enter to open it. A barcode scanner that types the number and presses Enter opens it the same way.

Move around

• ↑ and ↓ move between results, and Enter opens the one highlighted.
• ⌘ Enter (Ctrl Enter on Windows) opens it in a new tab.
• Before you type, the search lists what you opened lately on this device, and a few pages to start from.

Good to know

• You only find what your role can open. A door role finds ticket orders and passes but not customers, and a server finds only the reservations they made or the ones at their tables.
• Amounts show only to roles that can see money: order totals need Reports as well as Tickets, and reservation amounts need table money (Full Access to Tables, or Show money).
• The list of what you opened lately stays on the device you used it on, and only for you.
• With Limited view, search finds guests by name and by order, reservation or pass number, not by an email or phone number, and shows no amounts. See Roles and permissions.
