Scan passes

Guests show the QR code from the pass in their account. You scan it with the same scanner as tickets. See Check guests in.

Scan a pass

  1. Open the scanner as you would for tickets.
  2. Point the camera at the pass's QR code.
  3. Read the result.

Admitted (green) means the guest is in and one entry is used. The result shows the pass, the holder, the entries used Tonight, and the total used if the pass has a limit.

If the guest is not admitted (red), the message says why:

Pass not recognisedThe code is not a pass.
Not valid at this venueThe pass is for another venue.
This code was replacedThe guest showed an old code. The pass has a new one. Ask the guest to open the pass in their account again.
Pass suspended or Pass revokedYour team stopped the pass.
Valid from a dateThe pass starts on a later night.
Expired and a dateThe pass's last night has passed.
Not valid for this eventThe pass does not include tonight's event, or the event is not Published or Internal.
Already used for this eventThe pass has used its entries for this event.
No entries leftThe pass has used all its entries.
No event tonightNo Published or Internal event is on tonight.

Rarely you may see Event not found, This event was canceled, This event is not tonight, or Scan again. Scan the pass again.

When several events are on

If more than one event is on tonight, the scanner may show Choose the event. Tap the event at your door. That phone remembers your choice, so later passes go straight through.

If a pass is refused for the event you chose, Change event appears. Tap it to choose again.

If the scanner says Update the app: close and reopen the scanner, that phone has an old copy of the app. Do what it says, then scan again.

Admit anyway

When a pass shows Already used for this event or No entries left, staff with Override pass limits at the scanner see Admit anyway.

  1. Tap Admit anyway.
  2. Enter a Reason of at least 3 characters.
  3. Tap Admit.

The result shows Admitted with an Override badge. It does not use up an entry. Your name and the reason are recorded in the pass's Activity. No other refusal can be overridden.

Good to know

  • Anyone who can scan sees the holder's name or email on the result, as with tickets.
  • After New code, the old QR code stops working at once.
  • An event that starts before 6:00 AM counts as the night before. A pass whose last night is Friday still works at an event on Saturday at 1:00 AM.
