Notifications
Updated
The bell keeps a short list of new table reservations, deposits paid, tables you have been assigned to, and chats waiting on a reply. Push notifications send the same kind of alerts to your device, even when VenueStack is closed.
Use the bell
The bell is at the top of the sidebar on a computer, at the top of the screen in a phone browser, and under Alerts along the bottom of the installed app.
- Click the bell to open the list.
- Click a notification to open that booking or event on the Tables page. A chat opens that conversation.
- Click the X on a notification to remove it, or Clear All to empty the list.
Turn on push notifications
Push works only in the installed VenueStack app, not in a browser tab. See Dashboard tour to install it on your phone.
- Open VenueStack from its app icon.
- Go to Settings → Notifications.
- Turn on Push on this device, then allow notifications when your device asks.
It takes a few seconds to finish. Your phone sets up an address with Apple or Google first, so the switch waits before it moves.
Choose what you get
Under What you get on the same page, turn each kind on or off:
- New reservations — a guest books or pays for a table.
- Table assignments — you are put on a table for an event.
Both start on. Deposits show in the bell only.
Good to know
- Push is set per device, so each phone or computer can get different alerts.
- Devices lists every device signed up under your account. Use the bin icon to stop one, which is how you remove a phone you no longer have.
- If you blocked notifications when your device asked, allow them for VenueStack in your device settings, then come back and turn the switch on.
